Description
The Vibram Montagna Lug Rubber Heel sits at the heart of our craft. We choose it for its strength, its balance and its unmistakable character. It feels purposeful in the hand and confident underfoot. The Montagna Heel delivers traction with ease and ages with quiet dignity. We trust it on premium footwear that deserves a second life, or looking for a bit more chunkiness.
In our Newtown shop we pair the Montagna Heel with heritage boots, such as Red Wing, Viberg, Tricker’s, Wolverine, Chippewa, Danner, Wesco and White’s,. It brings a classic silhouette back to life while keeping the feel authentic. The structure is firm yet responsive. The tread grips cleanly on wet pavements and uneven paths. Every installation reminds us why this heel has earned global respect. We match its durable profile with thoughtful finishing so your shoes leave looking sharper than when they arrived.
Moreover the Montagna Heel aligns with our old world approach. It offers reliability without showmanship. It complements the Montagna sole just as much as leather soles. The heel holds its shape. It resists wear. It keeps stride with your pace. This is why we return to the Vibram Montagna Lug Rubber Heel again and again. It embodies what we value most: quality, heritage and excellence.

Our Method
- We begin by removing the old heel using a heel puller, being careful not to damage the midsole or surrounding leather.
- Next, we clean the heel base thoroughly, removing any old glue or nails.
- We roughen both the shoe’s heel base and the Vibram Montagna Lug Heel surface with sandpaper for better adhesion.
- We apply Renia glue to both surfaces. After waiting 15 minutes we push the heel firmly onto the shoe and clamp.
- Once bonded, we trim the excess rubber before sanding to a flush finish
- Finally we add nails for extra durability
